The Region exists to carry out campaigns activities, support our parliamentary representatives and candidates, provide training and mentoring for our dedicated activists and engage members. We also co-ordinate voluntary efforts across the region and run a twice-yearly conference for all North West members.
At the 2024 election we gained three seats in the North West - Cheadle, Hazel Grove, and Westmorland & Lonsdale.

Two key battleground seats in Greater Manchester were the main focus for the Liberal Democrats at their autumn North West conference, with Cheadle and Hazel Grove candidates Tom Morrison and Lisa Smart bookending the day.

Our team was out in force at the weekend in Salford Quays during our monthly Action Day, where we chatted to residents about our campaigns and what more the Liberal Democrats can do to support local communities.
Thanks to a relentless, three year-long campaign from the Liberal Democrats, Manchester Metrolink trams in Salford will run to 1:00AM on weekends from this September.
