The Tony Greaves Lecture
Baroness Pinnock will give the Tony Greaves Memorial Lecture later this month.
It will be part of the programme for our Spring Conference, which will be held online (via Zoom) on Saturday 26 February from 10am-5pm.
Tony Greaves, longstanding campaigner and councillor and a member of the House of Lords for over twenty years, died at his home in Pendle last March.
His long involvement with the Liberal Party and Liberal Democrats included moving the community politics motion at the 1970 Liberal Assembly, seen as the start of the return of the Liberals to representation and power in local councils and town halls across the country.
Kath Pinnock was first elected as councillor for the Cleckheaton ward of Kirklees Met Council in 1987 and has been re-elected every time since. She was made a life peer in 2014.
The conference speaker lineup also includes Alex Cole-Hamilton MSP, our leader in the Scottish Parliament, Lord Storey, and MPs Christine Jardine, Jamie Stone, Wendy Chamberlain and Alistair Carmichael.
