Lib Dem surge in Morecambe

The Lib Dems surged from nowhere to over 40% in today's byelection in Morecambe.
The election for Harbour ward of Lancaster City Council saw the result:
Lab: 555 (47.9%)
Lib Dem: 479 (41.3%)
Con: 124 (10.7%)
While Labour just held on, it was a fantastic effort from the Liberal Democrat team.
