Yesterday (Thursday 2nd) there were two council byelections for Lancaster City Council

First the result for Upper Lune Valley ward.

Liberal Democrats - 390 (63.1%, up 19.1%)
Con - 183 (29.6%, down 16.3%)
Green - 24 (3.9%, did not stand last time)
Lab - 21 (3.8%, down 6.7%)

And in the byelection for Bare ward, also on Lancaster City Council:

Liberal Democrats - 428 (33.3% , up 21.2%)
Green - 301 (23.4%, did not stand last time)
Morecambe Bay Ind - 243 (18.9%, down 16.5)
Con - 205 (16.0%, down 14.9)
Lab - 107 (8.3%, down 9.1)

That makes two Lib Dem GAINS from the Conservatives, and takes us from 2 to 4 seats on Lancaster City Council.

Huge congratulations to new Councillors Ross Hunter (Upper Lune Valley) and Gerry Blaikie (Bare)
