Liberal Democrat leader Ed Davey MP has called on Prime Minister Johnson to bring UK political leaders together to consider responses to the unfolding situation in Afghanistan.
He commented:
"This situation in Afghanistan is moving fast, and it is extremely dangerous. Boris Johnson *must* call a meeting of UK political party leaders today."

"I am utterly aghast. We have walked away from our long term commitments in Afghanistan - commitments which were generated by the very fact of our intervention. This is the result. It is nothing short of a betrayal."
