First timer or regular, regional conference has something for everyone - lively policy debate, invaluable training, fantastic networking opportunities and much more.

Our Spring North West Region conference will be held in

Southport on February 15th, 2020.


Policy

Policy motions will be accepted for this conference with a deadline to be set, likely mid January 2020.

Training

We will have two training rooms with sessions running all through the day.

The training programme will be published here nearer the time.

What happens when you arrive

Note for first time attendees:

On arrival at conference you will be able to collect your conference pack and conference pass / name badge.

You will only need your name and local party to collect this - if your membership card is lost or has not yet arrived from HQ as a new member, don't panic, it's not a problem.

Conference papers are sent by email and/or post in the three weeks before conference itself.


Autumn 2020 Conference

Our 2020 Autumn conference is to be held in Lancaster on

Saturday October 17th, 2020. 9.30am - 5.00pm.

Getting There

The address is University of Cumbria, Bowerham Road, Lancaster LA1 3JD.

As in Autumn 2019, will be in the Sentamu building, and the Gateway building for lunch.

Accessibility note: almost all of the conference is on one level. The main conference hall is a lecture theatre which is stepped/sloped, but has front row spaces for people using wheelchairs, mobility scooters etc.

Here are a set of maps showing how to get to the conference centre as PDF and here is a jpeg campus map of the site, showing both the conference building and nearby building with cafe for lunch.

The postcode for satnav devices is LA1 3JD. The nearest motorway interchange is Junction 34 of the M6 - alternatively you can leave at J33 or J35 and follow the A6.

Conference runs 9.30am - 4.30pm, with the registration desk opening at 9.15am.

The AGM

The Annual General Meeting of North West Liberal Democrats will be held as part of the Autumn 2020 conference.

The Agenda and full set of reports is part of your conference welcome pack.


2021 Executive Elections

Elections to the 2021 Regional Executive will be held following the conference with nominations closing at the close of the event.

The regional candidates committee and regional representatives to the English Council will be elected at the same time and through the same process.

Nominations open in the summer and close at the close of conference, 4.30pm, 17 October 2020.


The Awards

The President's Awards are an annual feature of Autumn Conference, recognising the hard work of many people who have not enjoyed the limelight of council or parliamentary position but whose efforts have been essential to the party here in the North West. Nominations open summer 2020.
